Irish insurer FBD has welcomed a ruling in the Irish High Court that reduces uncertainty around its reinsurance recoveries for BI losses relating to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The ruling provided “considerable clarity” on the definition of business closure and other matters such as allowable wages, the insurer said.
