Generali’s board of directors, at a meeting chaired by Gabriele Galateri di Genola, has taken note of the recent resignations of directors Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone and Romolo Bardin yet categorically rejected the “groundless and often offensive” allegations made in their resignation letters.

Bardin, who sat on the firm’s appointment and remuneration, investments, strategic operations and related-party transaction committees, resigned earlier this week.
