The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) has announced the purchase of $1.064bn of private reinsurance for 2022, down 7% from the cover obtained last year.

The annual reinsurance agreement is effective throughout the year and was placed with 28 reinsurers in the private market, four fewer than last year.
