McMellin returns to market as wholesale head at Markel International

Markel International has hired Andrew McMellin as managing director of its wholesale division, effective 17 January. He will help the company grow its Lloyd’s platform and presence in other wholesale specialty markets.

McMellin will replace James Hastings, who resigned in August, as was revealed by Insurance Insider at the time. Hastings has since taken up a role as president at WR Berkley Syndicate Management.
