Reinsurers’ resolve to hold firm for price increases is stronger this year than at the last 1 January renewal, but carriers are fearful that rate hikes will be offset by rocketing inflation and the impact of climate change on weather events.

This comes as European and retro rate corrections have pulled significantly ahead of US rate increases, with a higher differential between loss-free and loss-hit rate change as well.
