Combined outstanding tax liabilities for the UK’s largest insurance firms has reached just shy of £2.3bn ($3bn), according to findings from an FOI request to HMRC by DLA Piper.

As a sector, insurance had the fourth-highest tax liability figure on the list, behind banking (top with £8.5bn), pharma and healthcare (£4.7bn)
