The collapse of the proposed Aon and Willis Towers Watson mega-merger earlier this year has created “tidal waves of change” in the broking market, according to Ardonagh’s CEO of reinsurance and capital Steve Hearn.

Hearn said the impact of offloading Willis Re to Gallagher “shouldn’t be underestimated” for the wider industry, while clients and talent were on the move.
