The Lloyd’s council has given Asta final approval for the transition of Medical Protection Society’s (MPS) special purpose arrangement (SPA) 1892 to a market-facing syndicate.

The managing agent obtained in-principle approval from the Corporation for the transition in May this year.

The syndicate will begin underwriting on 1 January 2022.
