MS Amlin falls to £101mn H1 loss on Ida and European floods

MS Amlin swung to an adjusted loss of £101mn ($136mn) in the first half as the carrier was stung by heavy claims from European flooding and Hurricane Ida, which it booked in the second quarter.

The figure compared to a loss of £154mn in the prior-year period, when the firm faced a heavy claims toll from Covid-19.
