FSCS not to levy further in 2021-22 as failures lower than expected

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) has confirmed it will not be calling for a supplementary levy for the remainder of the 2021-22 financial year.

The body charges a levy to Financial Conduct Authority and Prudential Regulation Authority-regulated firms to fund customer compensation.

CEO Caroline Rainbird said several business failures expected this year did not happen and may instead fall in the next financial year.
