Lloyd’s said the first London Bridge ILS transaction at the market was backed by more than £100mn ($136mn) of capital from the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, providing quota share support to three syndicates: CFC Syndicate 1988, Beazley’s Syndicate 5623 and Beat’s Syndicate 1416.

The new protected cell set up through London Bridge (LBR PCC) will be supporting some 2021 underwriting, which will expand in 2022 and is anticipated to grow beyond the £100mn in time.
