Ardonagh completes $500mn acquisition of BGC insurance operations

Ardonagh Group has announced the completion of its $500mn acquisition of the insurance operations of BGC Partners, adding Besso Insurance, Ed Broking and Piiq Risk Partners to its stable of brokers.

Following completion, Ardonagh becomes a business with $1.4bn of revenues, placing $13bn of gross written premiums.

The Specialty and Capital platform now has a combined $450mn revenue and places more than $5bn of premium on behalf of global clients.
