Energy market slowdown continues after modest Ida claims: Marsh

The deceleration of rate rises in both upstream and downstream energy continued in the third quarter as losses from Hurricane Ida look to be less significant than initially feared, according to a report from Marsh Specialty.

The broker said “aggressive” underwriting in the upstream sector meant rates were set to be flat for large accounts at January renewals, whilst less attractive business is set to attract only small rate increases.
