Willis Towers Watson’s chairman of global solutions, Alessandro Guerrini-Maraldi, is to leave the business for a position at Marsh, this publication can reveal.

It is understood Guerrini-Maraldi is to take up a senior position within Marsh’s private equity and M&A practice.

The executive has worked for Willis for just under 34 years, according to his LinkedIn profile.

He was previously the managing director of aerospace, but has spent the bulk of his career with the broker running the division that insured private equity investments.

Guerrini-Maraldi, who is also an Italian count, is the latest in a stream of exits from Willis to its rivals.

Last week, this publication revealed that regional leader for Middle East and Africa downstream natural resources William Peilow had resigned, and that former emerging markets fac leader Julian Samengo-Turner is to take up a role at AJ Gallagher.

Other recent defections include fac executives Luigi Boglione and Akshay Reddy, who both went to Howden, and a Miami-based fac team led by Luke Reeve Tucker which moved to Aon.

Willis and Marsh declined to comment.
