Former Willis Towers Watson emerging markets fac leader Julian Samengo-Turner is to take up a role at AJ Gallagher, Insurance Insider understands.

Samengo-Turner was head of facultative for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australasia for four years. This publication revealed his resignation from that post in July.

The broker spent 12 years at Guy Carpenter as CEO of fac reinsurance, having worked for Johnson & Higgins in the 1990s. He was also CEO of Integro International from 2007 to 2014.

Samengo-Turner’s move comes amid a talent feeding frenzy as Willis competitors descend on its fac division.

Earlier in October, this publication revealed that Howden had hired Willis’s former managing director for D&F Europe Luigi Boglione and ex-head of broking for the global fac division Akshay Reddy.

In the past few months, Willis has lost global head of fac Toby Wemyss to Guy Carpenter, along with prominent London fac figures Alexander Garner and James Goodwin.

Other exits include London fac chief Laurence Upton and head of fac for the US, Canada and Latin America Antonio Tosti.
