Concern is mounting in the D&O market around the risks associated with underwriting special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) following a blank-cheque vehicle boom in the US, and losses are starting to hit the market.

Market participants told Insurance Insider that claims being brought against SPAC IPOs were mounting, and there was increasing scrutiny over the potential for losses following de-SPAC transactions.
