QBE European surety manager Manwaring resigns

QBE’s Steve Manwaring has resigned from his position as European surety manager and has since been replaced by Tom Johnson, Insurance Insider can reveal.

Johnson has been promoted to manager of its UK surety operations following Manwaring’s departure.

Additionally, Danielle Upton has been promoted to senior underwriter in its UK surety team.

Manwaring joined QBE in 2012 as manager of UK surety before being promoted to manager of European surety at the carrier, according to his LinkedIn.

Johnson joined QBE in 2015 as surety underwriter. Prior to that he was a risk underwriter at Euler Hermes.

Upton has been at the company for eight years, originally joining as assistant surety underwriter.

Trevor Williams, head of credit and surety for Europe, said: “We were delighted to see both Tom and Danielle promoted internally to these roles.

“Our focus remains totally on our customers and brokers to continue to ensure excellent levels of service. I wish both Tom and Danielle every success in their new roles.”
