RenaissanceRe’s third-quarter catastrophe claims will cost it $725mn, the reinsurer said on Tuesday, including $440mn in losses from Hurricane Ida and $210mn in claims from the flooding in Northwestern Europe in July.

The third-quarter losses are higher than when the company took a $617mn hit from hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria in the third quarter of 2017.
