MS Amlin Underwriting hires RSA’s Forsyth to lead hull book

MS Amlin Underwriting Limited, the Lloyd’s platform of MS Amlin, has announced the appointment of Stuart Forsyth as lead class underwriter for hull.

Forsyth will take up the role mid-October and report directly to Laurence Humberstone, head of marine.

Forsyth brings more than 30 years' experience across underwriting and broking within the marine reinsurance market. He joins from RSA where he served as London market hull and liability leader.

Having begun his career at Willis Faber & Dumas, in 1998 he moved to Sedgwick working within their hull department, specialising in Greek and North American hull business.

Humberstone said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Stuart as lead class underwriter for Hull.

“His deep industry knowledge and proven market expertise, alongside his broking experience, will be an asset to the business as we continue to focus on strengthening our marine offering and providing best-in-class services to our insureds and distribution partners.”

The appointment comes amid a number of recent appointments at the (re)insurer, particularly in its marine segment.

Marsh’s Richard Little was recently appointed as senior underwriter for marine energy liability.

Little reports to Kevin Massey, marine liability product group leader.
