Axa-Covea talks over Axa XL Re end as parties walk away: report

Talks between Covea and Axa over a potential sale of Axa XL Re have ended without a deal, according to a French publication for the insurance industry.

The two were reported to be in discussions in June over a transaction as Covea continued its quest to break into reinsurance through an acquisition and as Axa XL looks to divest its reinsurance unit.
