The product-recall market faces a major loss stemming from the recent mass recall of the Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicles, with scope for $150mn of claims across two impacted policies, this publication understands.

Sources said the losses will come across two policies taken out by suppliers to General Motors company Chevrolet – one purchased by LG Chem and another purchased by sister company LG Electronics.
