Munich Re, Alleghany and Berkshire Hathaway received the greatest proportion of ceded premiums from insurers with large Louisiana exposure in 2020, according to analysis by this publication.

Louisiana regional carriers such as Citizens, Southern Fidelity, FedNat and the Louisiana Farm Bureau are expected to be an early source of significant Hurricane Ida losses for reinsurers, as they buy from much lower levels than nationwide carriers.
