Ida model loss runs average $16bn-$17bn, but industry fears higher claims toll

Early modelled loss data for Hurricane Ida is converging around figures of $16bn-$17bn, but sources fear the loss could significantly exceed this level.

The RMS average of best-fit tracks for the storm comes to just under $17bn, with a notable chance that claims will still reach $20bn or more, sources said.
