Aon has announced a reorganisation of the regional leaders of its reinsurance solutions business, which will see former Japan reinsurance chief Rupert Moore become UK CEO.

Current UK CEO Nick Frankland will become UK president as well as his new role of chairman of the insurance consulting group, which was announced earlier this week.

Elsewhere, Aon has appointed George Attard as CEO of the Asia-Pacific (Apac) region, as Jeremy Goodman is made Apac president. Attard was previously CEO of Asia.

In Europe, the Middle East and Africa (Emea), co-CEOs Richard Posgate and Alan Gregory move to head of strategy and chairman, respectively. In their places, Aon has appointed co-CEOs Alfonso Valera and Tomas Novotny. Valera was formerly Aon Iberia CEO and Novotny the CEO of Central and Eastern Europe.

On the other side of the Atlantic, David Sloan is to retire from his role as CEO and chairman of Canada and the Caribbean after 38 years with Aon, although he will remain with the business as an advisor for the next 18 months.

Sloan will be replaced by current Canada president Matt Wolfe as Canada CEO and Steve Bonifacio, presently senior vice president, as Caribbean CEO.

George deMenocal will stay on as CEO of US reinsurance solutions, while Pablo Munoz remains Latin America CEO with Paula Ferreira as LatAm president. Andrew Laing will continue as CEO of facultative.

The regional reshuffle comes after Joe Monaghan and Tim Ronda were announced as global growth leader and global geographic leader, respectively, earlier this week.

The US president role formerly held by Ronda will not be replaced.

Ronda said: “Our reinsurance capabilities have been built on the strong foundations of local knowledge and market connections, underpinned by a global focus to ensure we are sharing best practices and helping to drive growth for insurers in each region we serve.

“Whether enhancing their property catastrophe programs or navigating new forms of volatility around casualty, climate and cyber, our new solutions for insurers will reach every corner of the globe, with the benefit of regional expertise.

“This new team of regional leaders will benefit from the prior leadership, and the firm’s very deep existing and diverse talent base, as we continue to bring together proven talent from across the firm to support our clients’ needs.”
