Swiss Re hires AIG’s Blattner-Hoyle as global head of trade finance

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions (CorSo) has appointed Marilyn Blattner-Hoyle as global head of trade finance, effective 18 August.

Based in Zurich, Blattner-Hoyle will report to Andreas Hillebrand, global head credit & surety.

According to her LinkedIn, Blattner-Hoyle began her insurance career in 2015 at AIG as trade finance, product specialist and legal counsel, before becoming head of supply chain and trade finance in 2017.

She then became global head of trade finance, managing director, in 2018.

Hillebrand said: "Trade finance is a core proposition in our class of business, and, over the years, we have developed a highly successful franchise with client banks and corporates.

“Marilyn's experience in managing a global trade finance book and her strong external network are a perfect fit for our team.

“She will be instrumental in building new and exciting products for our clients in this highly dynamic business environment."

Swiss Re CorSo also recently appointed Chubb’s Christine Bell to work as country head in Australia and New Zealand.

Bell’s appointment follows the promotion of Melanie Slack, who recently took up the position of head of UK, Ireland, South Africa and EMEA wholesale at the carrier, relocating to London.
