Allianz reports Q2 profits of EUR3.3bn as AGCS swings back to profit

Allianz’s group operating profit in the second quarter swelled by 29% to EUR3.3bn ($3.9bn), while Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) swung back to profits with an operating result of EUR98mn.

The return to profitable growth in AGCS through Q2 was driven by factors including “continued strong rate changes across all lines” and lower negative impact from Covid-19, Allianz said, while its top-line growth was powered by underwriting actions.
