More than 130 fires have now burned across 30 Turkish provinces in the past week, triggering the country’s insurance trade body to expedite claims payments for a portion of damages.

The fires have smouldered across nearly 250,000 acres of land during the past week, a BBC report said, citing satellite images of various blazes.
