Willis Re deal positive for AJG and makes Willis more manageable: KBW

The potential acquisition of Willis Re by AJ Gallagher would be a “long-term positive” for the acquiring broker, whilst making Willis Towers Watson a “more manageable” business for the next CEO, according to analysts from investment bank KBW.

Analysts said Gallagher shares would likely trade down following a deal at a higher multiple than its original agreement to buy the reinsurance broker, which collapsed following the breakdown of the Aon-Willis merger.
