Lancashire posts $54.1mn H1 profit with 80.7% combined ratio

Lancashire Holdings reported net profits of $54.1mn in the first half as the carrier began to reap the benefits of three years of compound rate increases and significantly expanded its gross written premiums.

Bottom line: The carrier swung back into profit after posting losses of $23mn in the prior-year period, when the carrier was hit by Covid-19 losses and several late-reported attritional claims.
