Lloyd’s has appointed former UK cabinet secretary and head of the civil service Mark Sedwill as deputy chair of the Council of Lloyd’s and senior independent director.

Lord Sedwill replaces Andy Haste, who has been senior independent deputy chair of the council since 2012. Haste is also the chair of Esure Group.
