Aon is holding settlement discussions with the Department of Justice (DoJ) that could see it agree to a more wide-ranging remedies package to secure approval for its mega-merger with Willis Towers Watson, this publication understands.

Sources said that talks between Aon and the DoJ have been more positive than in the period immediately preceding the filing of the lawsuit late last month after the two sides re-engaged following a period of stand-off.
