Dixie Fire burns 40,500 acres in northern California

The Dixie Fire in northern California has burned 40,500 acres and is now 15% contained according to an update from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL Fire).

The blaze is in Butte County just east of the city of Chico and above the Cresta Dam.
