AmTrust pursues sale of £1bn+ European business

AmTrust has placed the rest of its European business up for sale as the private insurance group looks to take the next step in simplifying its operations following several other divestitures, this publication can reveal.

Sources said AmTrust has appointed JP Morgan and Ardea to advise on the sale of the business.

Both premiums written and the book value of the business are said to be upwards of £1bn ($1.4bn),
