Power accounts that include coal were subject to rate increases of up to 40% in the second quarter as the increased traction of ESG initiatives was reflected in rating momentum, according to Marsh’s quarterly energy report.

The broker said it was now commonplace to restructure programmes and fully utilise global markets to secure cover for such accounts.
