Former QBE head of financial lines and active underwriter of Syndicate 386 David Harries is to take up a new executive underwriter role at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI).

Harries spent 35 years at QBE and announced his retirement from the company in January.

He will join the BHSI team run by UK and Europe head Chris Colahan in September.
