Generali offers EUR1.2bn for remaining Cattolica shares

Assicurazioni Generali has made a EUR1.2bn ($1.4bn) bid for the shares of Società Cattolica di Assicurazione that it does not already own, in a move it said would reinforce its position in Italian insurance.

Generali added the potential transaction would accelerate its shift towards P&C, a goal identified in its 2021 strategic plan.
