The UK Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) has said it plans to assess, from a strategic and an execution perspective, the impact of any moves toward greater consolidation in the insurance sector.

In its 2021/22 Business Plan, it said it would undertake consolidation assessments with a view to safeguarding financial and operational resilience.
