Aon/Willis strike $3.6bn deal with Gallagher for remedy assets

Aon and Willis Towers Watson have signed a long-anticipated deal to sell a range of assets including Willis Re and insurance broking operations in four continental European countries to AJ Gallagher for $3.57bn.

The parties today confirmed the deal a week after this publication reported the two sides were on the brink of a transaction, and almost a month after it revealed the two sides were deep in talks.
