Payouts for Covid-19 BI claims now top £700mn, says FCA

Insurers have made £701mn ($991mn) in interim and final Covid-19 BI payments following the ruling in the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA’s) test case on the matter.

In an update published today, the regulator said carriers had now made 3,632 interim or initial payments in cases where claims had not yet been settled, amounting to £268mn.
