As firm-order terms for Florida reinsurance renewals start flowing to reinsurers, the early image appears to be that rates are coming in slightly below reinsurer expectations, as the market continues to settle after last year’s Covid-19 corrections.

The renewal has been much more orderly for many of the Florida domestics than last year’s hectic season, when reinsurers obtained more sweeping changes to terms, such as a withdrawal of cascading multi-event coverage.
