The Lloyd’s underwriting results by line of business represented a mixed picture, with both direct and reinsurance P&C losses eclipsing gains made in marine, aviation and transport and energy.  

The property market was impacted by a combination of Covid-19 BI claims and a year of major natural catastrophes, whilst social inflation led to losses in direct casualty.
