UK P&I Club to consider ‘all valid claims’ against Ever Given owner

The UK Protection & Indemnity Club has said it will consider all valid claims against the owner of the Ever Given – a cargo ship that ran aground in the Suez Canal, cutting off a crucial trade artery for days, but is now finally free.

The vessel is sailing unimpeded through the Great Bitter Lake, South of Ismailia, Egypt, data from MarineTraffic.com shows.

Ratings agency Fitch predicted the blockage of the canal would be a “large loss event” for the reinsurance industry.
