Standard & Poor’s (S&P) has assigned a BBB long-term issuer credit rating to SiriusPoint due to uncertainty around the group’s future following the merger of Sirius with Third Point Re.

The ratings agency said the successful merger had alleviated its concerns about Sirius Group’s dispute with China Minsheng and the effectiveness of Sirius Group’s governance.
