CEA lifts 2021 reinsurance budget 3%

The California Earthquake Authority (CEA) has budgeted $440mn for risk-transfer spending in 2021, up 3% from $427mn in 2020, according to agenda documents for its latest board meeting held today.

The increased budget reflects the CEA preparing to buy more cover in line with its exposure growth, as well as higher rates.
