The Channel Syndicate made underwriting earnings of £7mn ($9.7mn) in 2020, swinging back from a loss of £27mn in 2019 to achieve its first profit in almost a decade.

The syndicate’s combined ratio fell by 17 percentage points to 96%, whilst its gross written premium contracted by almost 8% to £233mn.
