Aviva has continued the sell-off of overseas assets with a deal to sell its Italian business in two pieces to Allianz and CNP Assurances for a total of EUR873mn ($1.05bn).

Allianz is to pay EUR330mn for the general insurance business and French insurer CNP Assurances has agreed to buy the life arm for EUR543mn.
