London cargo market shows first signs of rate deceleration

Signs are emerging of a deceleration of rate momentum in the marine cargo market after almost three years of sustained upwards pressure on rates, Insurance Insider understands.

Market sources said that there had been a marked uptick in competition for new business in the past six weeks, which was leading to some pressure on pricing as carriers looked to snap up profitable accounts.
