Aviva aims for net zero carbon emissions by 2040

Aviva has claimed a first among major insurers by laying out targets to become a net zero carbon emissions company by 2040.

By the end of this year Aviva will stop insuring companies that make more than 5% of their revenue from coal or unconventional fossils, unless they have also signed up the Science Based Targets Initiative for corporate emissions-cutting.
