Willis names Bailey successor

Willis Group moved swiftly to promote Vic Krauze to chairman and CEO of Willis North America, following the resignation of incumbent Don Bailey earlier this month.

Krauze was formerly president and COO of Willis North America and has been with the broker for 14 years. He will take up the new role after Bailey leaves to join US giant Allstate in December.

Willis has also promoted Todd Jones, formerly national partner for its US Northeast region, to Krauze's former role as president of the Willis North America retail unit.

There have been a number of changes across the Willis Group in recent months.

Bailey's resignation was the highest profile, but the broker has also lost Colin Kiddie, who had been appointed only a week before to CEO of its specialty reinsurance business.

Chris Clark, chairman of Willis Re international and specialty, will oversee the specialty reinsurance division that Kiddie would have been leading.

At the beginning of September Willis Group caught the market off guard by announcing that it had recruited former AIG executive Martin Sullivan to its executive committee.

Sullivan was appointed deputy chairman of Willis Group and chairman and CEO of Willis Global Solutions.
