McIntosh elected chairman of Joint Hull Committee

Wellington’s hull underwriter Peter McIntosh has replaced William Beveridge as the chairman of the marine London market body, the Joint Hull Committee.

Beveridge, who resigned from the post, will remain a member of the committee – which is drawn from both Lloyd’s and London market insurers.

McIntosh played a pivotal role in the changes to the international hull clauses last year.

Beveridge is currently on gardening leave after resigning from XL London Market earlier this year and is expected to rejoin his former colleague Nick Metcalf at Arch.

Separately, the International Underwriting Association (IUA) named the Zurich Global Energy underwriter Len Messenger as the new chairman for its Marine Technical Committee. Messenger replaces Graham Hensman, a marine underwriter with Allianz Marine and Aviation.
